I always make a point of pushing readers to jump on these freebie ships even if at first glance they are not a ship one wishes to fly. The ships are permanently unlocked so any character on the account can get the ship even at a later date. This ship is no longer available, but some players may have unlocked it and could be sitting on it. This little gem was offered up as a freebie during the Summer Event on Risa in 2015. This ship is a dinosaur when you think about the advancements in ships over the last several seasons, yet here I am talking this thing up! This ship is a great all-rounder that can do many things very well and since it is a Ferengi ship, it does these things with that classic big lobes panache. Commander is a tactical and that leaves room for using cannons or having a bit more punch with beams. As one might expect, there is an engineer at number one, but the Lt. That said, it is actually a pretty usable layout for many players. I find that the bridge officer seating is the weakest link on this ship. Of course, there are not any special BOFF seats either. This ship predates the wide-spread use of universal bridge seating and as such there are no universal chairs on this boat. The ship can equip dual cannons but with that sleepy turn rate I’d shy away from the doubles. It has solid shields much better than the average for cruiser type ships that were available in 2012. The ship has a fairly quick turn rate for the era in which it appeared in STO but perhaps a tad sluggish by modern standards for a battle cruiser. It is equipped with eight weapons bays in the classic 4/4 layout. The good news is that the upgrade is FREE, so that makes this Marauder a true bargain. The Marauder will need to be upgraded to T5-U to be truly comparable to the T6 Nandi. If one wishes to have a low-cost experience with a tad less grinding you can use roughly $8 worth of Zen to acquire this ship by purchasing things like lock box keys or upgrade modules and selling them on the exchange and then buying the ship there. I saw several under 35M today! Obtaining 30 million EC is not a difficult thing to do for “free”. There are many players that want the “free experience” and the D’Kora is now selling routinely in the 50-60 million EC price range. Even as stale as she may seem, this is still a solid ship. I don’t own one of those so I’ll stick to the Marauder for today. The Nagus version was available as a secret freebie to a very select few players and also offered as a short-term random award. There is a T6 Nagus version that is perhaps the rarest ship in the game. Make no mistake the D’Kora is a dated ship now. Yes the Marauder was the first ship to offer on board, Dabo, Mail, Bank, Exchange, and even a Trader. The D’Kora offered Federation profiteers the opportunity to fight like a Klingon in a real battle cruiser or hosting dignitaries with a full suite of space station services just off the bridge of the ship. There was no Legacy of Romulus expansion, that was a year away as well. The Avenger was still more than a year away. This was a period of time where federation captains had little to no battle cruiser options. ![]() This is an old ship dating back to the spring of 2012. This was the first Ferengi ship offered in STO as a playable experience and early on it was well received. Which Ferengi ship is the most profitable for your toon and which is leaving latinum at the table?Įither of these sibling ships will help you hear the ‘profit in the wind’, so let’s get to it. ![]() I have reviewed the Ferengi D’Kora Marauder and the Ferengi Nandi, but now it’s time for a Head 2 Head for capitalists. ![]() Since I am on the subject of the Ferengi, has anyone else noticed that none of the chairs in Quark’s bar are usable? What the hell? How am I supposed to kick back, suck down a few over-priced drinks, while listening to the sweet sound of Holo-Leeta going “Ohhh, you’ll do better next time”… “The house always wins”…

Scan of 1968/1969 Selmer guitar catalogue (printed July 1968), showing the entire range of electric and acoustic guitars distributed by the company: guitars by Hofner, Gibson, Selmer and Giannini. These included the Les Paul style sold body VG2. Right at the end of the 1960s, Vox sold a number of rebadged Japanese instruments under the Vox marque. ![]() Some of these guitars, both British and Italian, were fitted with built-in electronic effects, and it is perhaps these as much as anything that give Vox guitars their distinctive sounds. Again, these three models had aircraft origins, but with production very much focused on the USA, American planes were chosen: Convair Delta Dagger, Douglas Invader and Republic Thunderjet. The new solid body models were based on existing designs: the Phantom-styled Delta, Bulldog-styled Invader and Fender/Vox Consort-styled Thunderjet V260. This was in conjunction with JMI, Eko, and US distributor Thomas Organ, and was known as EME. As well as the much desired Mark (teardrop) and Phantom models, Eko produced a range of models not dis-similar to the UK Consort, and all named after British world war two aircraft (with the possible exception of the Vox Harlem): the Meteor (Gloster Meteor), Hurricane, Tempest (Hawker Hurricane & Tempest), Spitfire (Supermarine Spitfire), Bulldog (Bristol Bulldog, actually slightly pre-war), Super Meteor, and Harlem.īy 1967, with demand increasing still, a new plant was set up in Italy, producing a redesigned, but significantly slimmed down range of Vox guitars. The JMI plant in Dartford could not keep up with worldwide demand, and production of additional solid body models was allocated to the Eko factory in Italy from 1965. During world war two there were British naval vessels named HMS Ace, HMS Consort, HMS Escort, and American aircraft named Phantom, Dominator, Apache, Scorpion and Marauder. Others are not so clear, but with the second world war still looming large in the minds of British citizens, it may be that many of these guitar names have military origins. Likewise Shadow almost certainly refers to the early sixties British band of the same name - actually THE biggest band in Britain at the dawn of the 1960s, and Vox endorsers too. The name Soundcaster is clearly derived from Stratocaster, as was the instrument itself. Some clearly have musical references: Soloist, Duotone, etc. The names of Vox guitars are quite interesting in themselves. Certainly numerous prototypes and test models were made including the one-off Vox Kensington made for the Beatles. Certainly Vox solid bodies were being produced at Dartford by 1965, at least to some extent. It is tempting to suggest the differing models with the same names shown in the 1962 Vox Catalogue and 1963 Vox Catalogue represent the work of each company, although this is pure conjecture. Supposedly, Two UK furniture manufacturers (Stuart Darkins and then later, G-plan) produced Vox bodies and necks which were then assembled with Vox electronics at the Vox Dartford factory. The very earliest British instruments bear a remarkable similarity to certain early sixties models made by Fenton Weill it is not clear whether these were manufactured by them, or a third company produced for both. Vintage Vox solid bodies like the teardrop-shaped Mark VI and the Phantom have made Vox guitars famous, and were produced separately in Britain and Italy, but there were very many lesser-known models produced throughout the 1960s, some of which sold in large numbers, like the Shadow, Stroller and Clubman, whilst some are incredibly rare, like the Apache and Scorpion. The two plants made noticeably different guitars. and Italian guitar company Eko, whilst British Vox's were still produced by JMI. From the mid 1960s US guitar stores were stocking Vox guitars made in Italy by EME - a consortium made up of JMI, Thomas Organ co. Initially JMI-made instruments were exported worldwide, but the Dartford plant could not fill demand. Different guitars were available to different markets at different times. Vox produced solid body guitars in the UK from 1961 until 1967, in Italy between 19, and Japan from 1969 onwards. The menu bar in Windows is usually anchored to the top of a window under the title bar therefore, there can be many menu bars on screen at one time. It has been a feature of all versions of the Classic Mac OS since the first Macintosh was released in 1984, and is still used today in macOS. The idea of separate menus in each window or document was later implemented in Windows and is the default representation in most Linux desktop environments.Įven before the advent of the Macintosh, the universal graphical menu bar appeared in the Apple Lisa in 1983. Therefore, for example, if the System Preferences application is focused, its menus are in the menu bar, and if the user clicks on the Desktop which is a part of the Finder application, the menu bar will then display the Finder menus.Īpple experiments in GUI design for the Lisa project initially used multiple menu bars anchored to the bottom of windows, but this was quickly dropped in favor of the current arrangement, as it proved slower to use (in accordance with Fitts's law). There is only one menu bar, so the application menus displayed are those of the application that is currently focused. In Mac OS 8.5 and later, the menu can be dragged downwards, which would cause it to be represented on screen as a floating palette. DCI is the Digital Cinema Initiatives. Over the last years, wide color gamut monitors have become more common and cheaper. A ‘sRGB’ monitor will not suffice to reproduce all colors that can be printed. For color critical work, you should use a monitor that is capable of reproducing the AdobeRGB gamut.
